This is made possible by an integrated microphone, volume control and an electronic controller that automatically attenuates sounds over 85db. This automatic attenuation works by recognizing sounds over 85db and stopping the sound transmission to the ears. When the sound level drops below 85db the Earmuffs will restore hearing to a normal level. All done automatically!
